A senator representing the Edo Central Constituency, Clifford Ordia, on Wednesday raised the security alarm at his polling unit.

Speaking with journalists, Ordia alleged that All Progressives Congress leaders in Opoji sponsored attacks against PDP leaders and loyalists.

He said, “We also have problems with the security arrangement.  Last night, our leaders and members in Opoji came under attack by APC stalwarts. As we speak now, they have been driven away from their homes.

“We have complained to the commissioner of police, the area commander and the unit commander. They promised to do something.”

Ordia also complained about the voting process, scoring the Independent National Electoral Commission low on accreditation.

He said, “The process is very slow. The card reader is not functioning well. We started at 8am;  but, up till now, only 20 persons have been accredited.

“We have made several complaints and INEC is about resorting to the manual system. It took them to get me accredited.”
