Barcelona has officially announced their squad for the upcoming La Liga match against Villarreal, with notable absences impacting the list. Hansi Flick, the club’s manager, faces the challenge of managing his team while missing several key players, aiming to recover after a recent Champions League loss to Monaco.
The squad is significantly weakened, with eight players sidelined due to injuries or suspensions. Gavi, Christensen, Araujo, Marc Bernal, De Jong, Fermin Lopez, and Dani Olmo remain in Barcelona due to various injuries. In addition, Ferran Torres is suspended following a red card in the Girona match after a rough tackle on Asprilla.
To fill these gaps, Flick has called up several reserve team players, including Gerard Martin, Sergi Dominguez, Cuenca, Guillermo, and Toni Fernandez, for the match at La Ceramica Stadium.
Full Barcelona Squad for the Villarreal Clash:
- Goalkeepers: Ter Stegen, Inaki Pena, Astralaga
- Defenders: Cubarsi, Balde, Inigo Martinez, Kounde, Eric Garcia, Hector Fort, Gerard Martin, Sergi Dominguez, Andres Cuenca
- Midfielders: Pedri, Pablo Torre, Marc Casado, Guillermo
- Forwards: Lewandowski, Ansu Fati, Raphinha, Pau Víctor, Lamine Yamal, Toni Fernandez
Despite these challenges, Flick is determined to keep Barcelona’s unbeaten run in La Liga intact.
