Queen’s Park are pleased to announce that Darren O’Donnell has been appointed as the club’s new Director of Football and starts work tomorrow, June 1, at The city Stadium in his new role.
Darren is already well-known to Queen’s through his work as a FIFA Registered Agent however his connection to the Spiders goes back to his days as a youth player.
South-side based Darren said: “I have worked with Queen’s Park on a frequent basis as a FIFA Agent during the past 18 months.
“However, my relationship with the club stretches back further as I was a young player here as well.”
Darren added: “Having been involved in the football industry for a number of years I know that the Director of Football role is an exciting challenge and an opportunity to build on the foundations put in place after the club moved into full-time football.
“Queen’s Park has a great history, and I am looking forward to getting started and working closely with all the Department Heads and staff as we take the club forward into a new chapter.”
Club President Graeme Shields said: “Darren has worked for Queen’s Park as a recruitment consultant and impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. Darren knows the Club and its willingness to give young players opportunities to play and develop.
“He also knows the values and work ethic we wish to install. I am looking forward to working with Darren and seeing him continue to progress the Club.”
