The government of Lagos State has asked workers in its employ to key into the vision of the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode-led administration to deliver effective service to the people.
The Commissioner for Establishments, Pensions and Training, Dr Akintola Oke, said this on Tuesday at the opening of a three-day training programme for 90 government workers at the Public Service Staff Development Centre, Magodo, Lagos.
The commissioner said the vision of the Ambode-led administration was to build a virile civil service that would deliver effective and efficient service to the public.
Oke, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Establishments and Training, Mrs. Folashade Ogunnaike, stated that the need to actualise the administration’s vision was the reason series of training meant to equip workers were being organised.
He said, “Ambode has given training of staff the much desired impetus with commitment of funds and necessary support meant to ensure efficient service delivery.
“Government officials are expected to key into the vision of the governor by leveraging on the training programmes which had been packaged to meet identified gaps in the system. Efforts are being dispensed to get the best of training consultants for all the training programmes in 2016.”
The commissioner said the government believed that the training would create positive attitude and skills in individual worker to achieve the best result.
He said the workers would be trained on the use of English Language, speech writing, public speaking and innovation in public sector, among others.
