The NDLEA Kaduna State Command has recorded significant achievements in its fight against drug trafficking and abuse since the beginning of the year.
According to Mr Samaila Danmalam, the state Commander of NDLEA, a total of 92 suspects have been arrested, including 88 males and four females.
The agency has also seized 217.02kg of illicit substances, which include Indian hemp, cocaine, heroin, tramadol, and methamphetamine. In addition, NDLEA operatives have raided 19 illicit drug locations in the state.
The agency has been proactive in addressing drug demand reduction. A total of 29 drug users received counselling, and seven drug addicts were successfully rehabilitated.
Furthermore, the NDLEA carried out enlightenment campaigns targeting 6,956 participants to educate the public about the dangers of drug use and trafficking.
The state command has also been successful in the legal process, with 24 suspects convicted and 25 charged to court during the period.
These achievements demonstrate the commitment of the NDLEA to combating the drug problem in Kaduna State.
