Chidi Amadi, the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has resigned.
This marks the tenth member of Fubara’s cabinet to leave due to the conflict between the governor and his political godfather, Wike.
Amadi, who is from the same local government area as Wike, was the former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the area and a known ally of the Federal Capital Territory minister.
The governor will announce a replacement for Amadi at a later time. The resignation was confirmed by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Communications.
