A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba, has expressed his concern over the economic hardship currently being experienced in Nigeria.
Garba, known for his support for President Bola Tinubu, highlighted the rising cost of living, using the example of rice prices.
Garba claimed that his wife purchased bags of rice for N75,000 ($147) each on Tuesday, compared to N53,000 ($104) in late December.
He argued that government officials should be sensitive to the difficulties faced by ordinary people and refrain from displaying extravagance or undertaking unnecessary foreign travel.
Garba believes that such behaviour negatively affects the government’s image and distracts from efforts to address the current economic situation.
He expressed his confidence that the country will overcome these challenges and suggested that under President Tinubu, the Nigerian economy will become stronger than ever.
