Ahead of the semifinal clash between South Africa and Nigeria in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), South Africa coach Hugo Broos has praised Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman.
After defeating Angola 1-0, Nigeria secured their place in the semifinals, while South Africa beat Cape Verde 2-1 on penalties.
Broos highlighted that Nigeria has shown improvement in their performance after their first group game draw with Equatorial Guinea.
The coach specifically identified Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman as two outstanding players in the Nigerian team who can make a difference in the upcoming match.
During a press conference following South Africa’s victory over Cape Verde, Broos expressed his admiration for Nigeria, stating, “Nigeria is a team who became better and better every game. When I saw them playing, it’s again a very good team with a very good striker. There are also a few good players, like the one who scored the goal, Lookman, a very good player. So we have to analyze a little bit more now because we didn’t at the time.”
