South Africa coach Hugo Broos has claimed that his team was the better side in the first half of their AFCON semi-final match against Nigeria.
Broos believes that if South Africa had converted their three chances in the first 90 minutes into goals, they would have secured a spot in the final instead of Nigeria.
He expressed disappointment that his team played well but could not find the back of the net.
South Africa eventually lost to Nigeria in the penalty shootout after the match ended in a 1-1 draw after extra time.
Man of the Match Stanley Nwabali played a key role in the shootout by saving two penalties.
Nigeria will now face Ivory Coast in the AFCON final on Sunday.
