Arsenal are planning another big summer transfer window for Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu will have his hands full negotiations a handful of exits to help bolster the Gunners’ budget
Arsenal are ready to listen to offers for at least seven players this summer – while three separate exits are already set in stone.
Bids will be considered for Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe, Kieran Tierney, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Reiss Nelson as Mikel Arteta strives to improve the depth of his squad.
Right-back Cedric Soares, Mohamed Elneny and goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo are also due to depart north London upon the expiry of their contracts which are up at the end of June.
Arsenal are ready to back Arteta with another substantial summer transfer kitty and funds could also be significantly bolstered via a handful of notable departures.
Hale End academy graduates Nketiah, Smith Rowe and Nelson would reflect 100 per cent profit against Premier League PSR rules which crucially, would help the Premier League title challengers keep their financial records in check ahead of another transfer splurge.
All three have attracted interest from the Premier League while Nelson also has a market abroad after previously shining on loan in the Bundesliga and Eredivisie with Hoffenheim and Feyenoord, respectively.
The Gunners had high hopes for Smith Rowe but he has struggled to fulfil his potential since they rejected two bids from Aston Villa in the summer of 2021 and now could be the right time for both parties to move on.
It's no secret that out-of-favour goalkeeper Ramsdale has admirers at Newcastle while Chelsea have also been linked with the former Sheffield United and Bournemouth No.1, who is sure to generate Arsenal credible profit following his £24m switch from the Blades almost three years ago.
Gunners chiefs are also due to evaluate the future of Thomas Partey, who'll have just one year left to run on his current deal at the end of the season, following his recent return to full fitness. The Ghanaian has provided a timely reminder of his quality at the base of midfield just as a summer sale began to look probable while Jorginho is staying put after penning a new one-year contract on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus is also expected to remain at the club barring a drastic twist as he's still a player of real value to Arteta despite his ongoing battle with knee pain. There is optimism he will be back to his best next season if the issue is addressed this summer when he could undergo surgery to fix the problem.
Most of the stars facing uncertain futures are homegrown and would need to be replaced if sold, though it's highly unlikely all will depart at once as in the view of Arsenal, the squad does not require major surgery.
Ethan Nwaneri could be set for his first loan spell next season while the club are also determined to keep hold of red-hot 16-year-old goalscoring sensation Chido Obi Martin.
