The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) of refusing to grant it access to election materials used in the November 11 governorship election in Kogi State. The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal had ordered INEC to grant SDP access for forensic assessment of the election materials. A coalition of 100 pro-democracy groups has welcomed the ruling of the Appeal Court affirming the election of Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State. DAILY POST recalls that the court, in a unanimous decision on Tuesday, upheld the judgment of the Rivers State Governorship Election Tribunal, which had earlier dismissed four separate appeals filed against the governor.
