The Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a case challenging the eligibility of Akolade Alabi as the National President of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria. In a suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1609/2023, the Incorporated Trustees of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, Abubakar Abdullahi and Shaban Shuabu contended that the immediate past president of ALGON, Alabi “is the chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area”, adding that that he was ineligible be president of the association. A human rights lawyer, Deji Ajare, has urged the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Umar Yusuf, to begin impeachment proceedings against the Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, over allegations of misconduct and abuse of office. Ajare made the call in a letter addressed to the Speaker, through the clerk of the House on Friday. Gunmen have again attacked Tilengpat Pushit community in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State and killed twelve persons. It was learnt that the attacks leading to the deaths of the victims occurred in the early hours of Friday.
