The Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a case challenging the eligibility of Akolade Alabi as the National President of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria. A human rights lawyer, Deji Ajare, has urged the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Umar Yusuf, to begin impeachment proceedings against the Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, over allegations of misconduct and abuse of office. Ajare made the call in a letter addressed to the Speaker, through the clerk of the House on Friday. Gunmen have again attacked Tilengpat Pushit community in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State and killed twelve persons. It was learnt that the attacks leading to the deaths of the victims occurred in the early hours of Friday. The gunmen had last week killed no fewer than ten persons in Mandung-Mushu and Kopnanle villages, in the Bokkos and Mangu local government areas of the state and also left several persons injured, with property, including homes of the villagers, set ablaze.
