Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi has appointed Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson as his new Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on entertainment, arts and culture . Johnson’s appointment was announced with 62 others in a statement issued in Lokoja on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government ( SSG), Dr Folashade Ayoade. The appointments take effect from April 1, the statement said. A father in Niger State forgave a 62-year-old man who raped his three years old daughter after the rapist promised to treat the girl. The culprit, Mohammed Sani, a resident of Cool-Cat area in Maitumbi of Bosso Local Government Area, was, however, arrested after the girl’s brother-in-law insisted the matter be reported at the state’s police command. A Federal High Court in Lagos has fixed March 23 to rule on the admissibility of a list of beneficiaries of funds in the ongoing trial of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Dele Belgore charged with money laundering. Belgore is charged alongside a former Minister of National Planning, Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman and a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke, who is said to be at large. The Nigerian currency exchanged at N455 (Buying rate), N457 (selling rate) at the parallel market, from the N455/460 it traded on Monday, while the Pound Sterling and the Euro closed at N547 and N480, respectively. One person was  confirmed dead and 21 others injured in an auto crash that occurred on Monday at Gudugba junction, Ewekoro Area of  the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
