National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA Jigawa State Command has arrested 422 drug peddlers and seized 999.335kg of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. State NDLEA Commandant, Mu’azu Aliyu Dan Musa stated this on Thursday while briefing newsmen at a commemoration of the International Day against drugs abuse and illicit trafficking held at the command’s headquarters in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital. The Court of Appeal, Abuja division, has reinstated the former Director General DG, National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Mohammed Dauda. Justice Peter Ige, in his judgment, explained that the evidence leading to the dismissal of Dauda was frivolous and lacked merit, saying that all the contentious issues against NIA are in favour of Dauda who is a respondent in the suit. The National Industrial Court in Abuja on Friday dismissed a suit instituted against the Federal Government by a group of retirees challenging alleged discrimination in implementing pension policy in the country. The court held that the pensioners failed to establish that the Federal Government shortchanged them in the payment of their pension emoluments.
