The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has revealed that the country’s monetary policy rate will still have to go up. The 82 Division of the Nigerian Army in Enugu State has warned communities and individuals in the state to stop encroaching on its land in the state. The army made the warning through its Deputy Director, Public Relations, Colonel Hamza Gambo, who alleged that people have been encroaching on parts of a land acquired by the army. Civil servants in Imo State have said they have resorted to borrowing money in a bid to survive the harsh economic situation in the state. The civil servants alleged that they had not received salaries since January. Our correspondent gathered that due to non-payment of salaries, most workers did not go to work regularly. Leke Baiyewu The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Saturday said it had apprehended a woman, Dorothy Onyekasi, for allegedly faking pregnancy at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos, with 86 pellets of a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine tied to her belly. The NDLEA said the cocaine weighed 1.720kg with an estimated street value of N20.6m.
