Senators from Kwara State on Wednesday declared their total support for Governor Abdurahman Abdulrazaq, describing him as the authentic leader of the All Progressives Congress in the state. Supporters of wanted Yoruba activist Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho have taken to the streets of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to protest last Thursday’s midnight raid by the Department of State Services on the residence of the Yoruba nation activist. The protesters gathered in front of Igboho’s house in the Sooka area of Ibadan from where they took to the streets around 12 noon on Wednesday. Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court on Wednesday, declared that the former Finance Minister, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, did not need the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC) discharge certificate to take up ministerial appointment in the country. Adeosun had resigned her appointment as Minister of Finance and returned to the United Kingdom following controversy surrounding her NYSC status. Abdullahi Ganduje to pay the sum of N800,000 as costs for expenses to Jafar Jafar, a publisher and his company, Daily Nigerian, respondents to his N3 billion defamation suit. Nigeria Senate on Wednesday approved a $6.1 billion loan request by President Muhammadu Buhari. The $6.1 billion loan request, which is equivalent to about N2.343 trillion, was approved after the Senate considered the report of the Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts.
