Barcelona are planning a summer raid on Bayern Munich, according to reports in Spain. The Catalan giants are reportedly interested in signing young winger Bryan Zaragoza, but their ambitions don’t stop there, with established star Joshua Kimmich also on their radar.
Zaragoza, 22, only joined Bayern in January 2024, initially on loan from Spanish side Granada. The move is set to become permanent in the summer, but Zaragoza has struggled for playing time, making just two appearances for the Bavarians so far. Spanish outlet El Nacional reports that his lack of German and even English has hampered his adaptation. This has reportedly opened the door for a potential return to Spain.
Barcelona are keen to take advantage of the situation and are reportedly looking to sign Zaragoza on an initial loan deal. They are expected to offer a loan with a buy option not exceeding €20 million. The winger, who impressed at Granada with 11 goals and 3 assists in 58 appearances, is believed to be open to a return to La Liga.
However, Zaragoza might not be the only Bayern player heading to Camp Nou. Barcelona are also reportedly interested in midfielder Joshua Kimmich. The German international’s contract expires in 2025, and there have been rumours of a potential move away from the Allianz Arena. Barcelona are keeping a close eye on his situation and could make a move if he becomes available.
Whether Barcelona can land their Bayern targets remains to be seen. Signing Zaragoza on loan seems like a more realistic possibility, while Kimmich’s future is likely to depend on contract negotiations with Bayern Munich.
