I have been wondering what exactly Donald Trump meant by referring to the President of over 190 million people, and that of Africa’s biggest and respected country across the globe, a lifeless president, to the point of warning his aides he never wanted to meet with such a personality anymore from the African Continent. How can a fellow leader paints his counterpart from another nation in such a bad light?
Could Trump be referring to President’s Buhari intellectual capacity or considering his state of health? How terrible could it have been before Trump could utter such a demeaning and condescending statement about Buhari? So much to ponder upon though. While the statement is still generating so much backlash amongst Nigerians, two of European finest leaders have visited and are visiting the same lifeless President, all happening within the same week.
Prime Minister Theresa May was with Muhammadu Buhari at the State House on Wednesday, while Angela Merkel visit has been scheduled to hold on Friday. The two leaders are expected to discuss on how to strengthen their bilateral relationship with the ‘Lifeless’ leader of Nigeria and also strengthen the bonds among Nigeria, Britain and Germany.
