The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Benneth Igweh, has called for effective community partnership in policing the FCT.
He made this call during a meeting with the management team, leaders of tactical units, and heads of departments in the FCT Police Command.
Igweh emphasized the need for intelligence-led and visibility policing, including constant stop and search operations.
He also ordered a clampdown on vehicles without number plates or with a single number plate, and urged the heads of tactical units to identify black spots and possible kidnappers’ dens.
Igweh pledged the readiness of the command to combat criminality and called on residents to collaborate with the police in the fight against crime.
He advised residents to avoid boarding vehicles along the road and unapproved parks, and encouraged them to report suspicious activities to the command’s hotline numbers : 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883.
