Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Sunday challenged journalists to constantly hold public officer holders accountable to their trust in governance.
Ganduje who spoke at the opening of capacity building for media practitioners on preventive measures against COVID-19, identified the role of journalists as integral part and vulnerable members of the society.
Ganduje posited that journalists behoved the trust of setting positive agenda and probing authorities with the intension of making positive impact.
Team lead of the presidential taskforce on COVID-19 in Kano, Dr. Sani Gwarzo tasked journalists to ensue high depth of knowledge of critical subject matters and appropriate language in reporting health matters.
Gwarzo reminded that journalists need requisite skill of risk communication to report in the era of pandemic insisted that quality reportage requires credible balancing of issues.
