The Labour Party has announced the sale of nomination forms for the Edo State election, which will take place between January 25 and February 11, 2024.
The sale and submission of expressions of interest and nomination forms will be open to all interested aspirants from the state who are Nigerian citizens or residents. The fees for expression of interest will be ₦5 million ($12,987), while the nomination form will cost ₦25 million ($64,935).
Female aspirants will be exempt from paying for the expression of interest form. The Labour Party’s National Working Committee (NWC) approved the guidelines for the congress and primaries to elect candidates for the Edo gubernatorial election.
The NWC also approved indirect primary elections, with ward and local government congresses to elect the party’s flag bearers. Screening of aspirants will take place on February 14, with the primary election scheduled for February 22.
