The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed Oluwatomiwa Omolewa as the new chairman of the Park Management System (PMS).
The development comes a week after Governor Makinde sacked Mukaila Lamidi (a.k.a. Auxiliary) as the PMS chairman and also dissolved the PMS committee led by Auxiliary.
The Guardian reports that Auxiliary was declared wanted by the state police command for allegedly stockpiling arms and ammunition. The move follows a second raid of one of his properties, his hotel, where more dangerous weapons were recovered on Thursday, June 5.
Meanwhile, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, stated in a statement on Sunday that Omolewa’s appointment was part of the state government’s reorganisation of the PMS.
The governor also appointed Kasali Ajisafe Lawal as the PMS secretary.
