When many say former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is inept and weak, one would find it difficult to argue otherwise. The level of weakness Nigerians witnessed under him still continue to resonate with him, even years after he has left Aso Rock.
Barely 72 hours after the launch of his book: My Transition Hours that chronicled the events and the happenings during his administration as Nigeria’s president; a plagiarised electronic copy of the said book had found its way into the public. How this manage to happen still baffles me, considering the fact that the said book was just released.
“We have just been informed that a fake document contrived by mischief makers is being passed on as the e-version and hard copy of the just launched #MyTransitionHours,” the former president tweeted on Thursday. “Also, note that the e-copy of #MyTransitionHours ’is not being marketed, as such, the fake online version could only have been created by those out to deceive the unsuspecting public,” he added.
The former president supervised some of Nigeria’s worst heist or ‘lootocracy’. Under him, public funds were being stolen, and he himself later claimed he spent not less than a trillion Nigerian naira on that failed election. Most of the monies stolen at that time were still being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) till date.
