There are strong indications that President Muhammadu Buhari Medical vacation in the United Kingdom may have been brought to an abrupt end after the People’s Democratic Party expressed their intention to pay a visit to him at the London House (probably to pray for his quick recovery).
While this may not be the case, there had been issues raised from the opposition party as to why visiting the President should be the exclusive right of members of the APC and with the exclusion of members of the People’s Democratic Party even as one of the party’s members – Ike Ekweremadu – is the Deputy Senate President.
It would be recalled that the President’s true state of health remained shrouded in mystery throughout his stay in the United Kingdom. In my opinion, the Presidency would have thought that the opposition party coming for a visit would reveal the true state of the president’s health which Mr. President might not be willing at the moment to make public at the moment. Although, President Buhari has returned to Nigeria, he said in a statement that he has return “home to continue to rest while the Acting President continues to work in his capacity”.
The president also have said that there is no point in people coming around to pay him a visit that everyone with such intentions should remain where they are and continue to pray for the good of the nation. Also, the president has said that he would be due for medical check-up in some few weeks’ time in the same UK. It is also clear that the President has not officially written to the National Assembly when he would resume fully back to work.
From these indications, could it mean that the planned opposition party visit actually short-lived the president’s medical vacation?
