The Accountant-General of the Federation, Dr Oluwatoyin Madein, has stated that the Federal Government is committed to paying the N35,000 wage arrears to government workers.
However, she mentioned that inadequate revenue and other government expenditure have caused some delay.
The N35,000 wage award was meant to be paid for six months until a new national minimum wage is agreed upon.
President Bola Tinubu had promised to give the wage award to federal government workers to help them cushion the rising cost of food and transportation.
The award has only been paid for the months of September and October 2023.
