Okechukwu Isiguzoro, a chieftain of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has called for Igbos to gradually retreat and redirect their businesses back to the South-East of Nigeria.
Isiguzoro made this call in response to a video showing helpless Igbo traders at the Trinity spare parts market in Lagos lamenting their inability to salvage their goods and products.
Isiguzoro stated that the Ohanaeze organization is documenting the systematic demolition of Igbo-populated markets in Lagos State and closely observing the distinct pattern of these demolitions.
He decried the use of state machinery against peaceful Igbo traders and requested President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State to urgently intervene and stop future demolitions.
Isiguzoro urged Igbo traders to relocate their businesses to Igbo land to avoid further complications arising from market demolitions and called for true leadership to protect the rights and interests of all citizens, regardless of their ethnicity.
