A suspected kidnapper has been arrested by operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command in Nigeria.
The arrest was made at a hotel in Tafa town, Kaduna, and the police recovered a sum of N2,350,000 ($5,529 USD), which is believed to be proceeds from kidnapping.
The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Bello Muhammad from Zamfara State, confessed to being a kidnapper and revealed that he operated with a gang in the Kagarko forest in Kaduna.
He attempted to bribe the Divisional Police Officer with N1 million to stop further investigation but was unsuccessful.
The police investigation is still ongoing.
