Lai Muhammed, the Minister of Communications and Culture has disclosed that the National Population Commission has sought the approval from the Federal Executive Council, FEC, on purchasing software costing N2.8 billion.
Muhammed stated this in his briefing to state-house correspondents after the FEC meeting on Wednesday in Abuja.
To provide an update on the reason for the postponement of the National Population Census earlier proposed for March 29, 2023, the Minister gave the Governorship and House of Assembly elections scheduled for March 18 as a reason for the new date.
He added, “They (National Population Commission) sought the council’s approval for a contract to procure software for the census at N2.8bn”.
