Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, has stated that there are no plans to move the Federal Capital to Lagos.
Onanuga argues that those spreading this rumor are being dishonest and trying to pit the North against the South.
He points out that Abuja is the current Federal Capital, backed by law, and it is not being moved.
Onanuga mentions the recent relocation of FAAN, a department of the Aviation Ministry, to Lagos, and argues that this is just an administrative decision that should not be politicized.
He also mentions that other parastatals, such as NIMASA and NPA, are not based in Abuja either, depending on their mandates. Onanuga calls for an end to the dirty politics and the spreading of false information.
