On Saturday, Promise Land, a real estate firm, in partnership with the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), presented plots of land to families and widows of fallen Nigerian heroes. The donation was made as part of the activities to commemorate the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day. The event, which took place at the DEPOWA Secretariat in Abuja, was attended by officials and members of the association from within and outside the nation’s capital.
According to Promise Land, the gesture was aimed at appreciating the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the peace and unity of Nigeria. The CEO of Promise Land Estate, Ambassador Lawrence Oloche Emmanuel, expressed his gratitude to the fallen heroes and their families and explained that the donation was a token of their appreciation. He stated that the company deeply values the sacrifices of these heroes and hopes to express their gratitude in a tangible and meaningful way through this initiative.
The President of DEPOWA, Mrs. Oghogho Gwabin Musa, praised Promise Land Estate for the generous donation and noted that the gesture would create a sense of belonging among the widows and families of the deceased military officers. She emphasized that the act of kindness would deeply resonate within the hearts of the widows and families of the fallen heroes. She commended Promise Land Estate for setting an exemplary standard of corporate social responsibility and expressed gratitude for their commitment to the community.
The President of the Military Widows Association, Mrs. Veronica Aluko, also expressed her appreciation for the partnership between DEPOWA and Promise Land Estate. She described the collaboration as a beacon of hope for military widows who face unimaginable hardships. Mrs. Aluko stated that the partnership provided both tangible support through the donation of land and solace and comfort to those who lost their loved ones in service.
Promise Land Estate presented land documents to ten beneficiaries selected from various associations under DEPOWA. The event was attended by prominent individuals such as DEPOWA President Mrs. Oghogho Gwabin Musa and POWA President Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun.
