Manchester City accumulated the most points of any club in the top five European leagues in 2023 after a record-breaking year.
Pep Guardiola‘s side enjoyed a memorable 12 months as they won the Treble in the 2022-23 season, lifting the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.
They added even more glittering success by winning the UEFA Super Cup in August, before they emerged victorious at the Club World Cup in December.
And in new data, City were by far and away top of the points table for overall games won in 2023.
The table – which included cup fixtures – saw City win 47 of their 66 matches and lose just eight, racking up 152 points with a stunning goal difference of plus 105.

Real Madrid were in second with 43 wins from 63 games and 138 points, closely followed by Champions League finalists Inter Milan who picked up 129 points from 61 games.
Perhaps surprisingly, Barcelona and Manchester United – despite their recent struggles – both won the fourth-most amount of games with 36, which equalled 117 points.
However, Barcelona played 10 fewer games and had a plus 45 goal difference in comparison to United’s plus 22, putting them slightly ahead of the Red Devils.
Erik ten Hag’s outfit enjoyed an impressive second half of last season as they finished third, while they also won the Carabao Cup, before this season’s struggles where they have lost nine of their 20 Premier League games.
Just behind them were this campaign’s Bundesliga surprise package Bayer Leverkusen, with Xabi Alonso’s side taking 115 points from 52 games.
This came at an average points-per-game of 2.21, something that dwarfs United’s 1.77 PPG and Barcelona’s 2.09.

Leverkusen remain at the top of the Bundesliga, four points clear of Bayern Munich at the time of the winter break in Germany.
Their goal difference of plus 78 is also stunning, only beaten by City and it is testament to their hugely successful year and time since Alonso took over in October 2022.
Their PPG is even better than Inter’s 2.11 and Real’s 2.19, although they do languish behind City’s 2.30.
There is no doubt the year belonged to Guardiola’s outfit though, and with City currently five points behind leaders Liverpool and out of the Carabao Cup, they will be desperate for more success in 2024.
