Ange Postecoglou has said Tottenham need plenty of transfer work this summer so money will need to be spent and there are some in his squad who can provide further funds

Ange Postecoglou is hoping for a busy summer transfer window at Tottenham Hotspur as he continues to overhaul his squad for a big season next time around.
The Australian had made it clear that his Spurs team is far from needing only one or two key additions and that he would ideally like a new face in every department of his squad this summer. The club will have to put significant funds into their upcoming transfer window spend, backed up with shrewd data analysis to ensure they do not spend big money on expensive flops as has proved to be the case in the past.
Tottenham must continue to step forward this summer because Postecoglou has his sights set on the battle to be top of the Premier League next season.
"I hope so or why am I doing what I'm doing? That's why I came to the club. As somebody said to me last week, 'Just do your job Ange', and my job is to come here and try to bring success and if you don't think you're going to be in the title race in 12 months' time then I don't know why I'm here," said the Spurs head coach this month.
The club will know they need to fund some key signings this summer and it is also a window in which a large number of players will leave to prune a squad that is approaching a total of 40 players when everyone is available. Those departures this summer could further boost the transfer kitty available to technical director Johan Lange and his recruitment team to ensure Postecoglou gets what he needs.
Here are six players who could bolster those summer funds further and a handful of them who could add a little bit more to bring in close to £100million in all.

The Spaniard turned down a loan move to Brighton in the winter window which looks like a stranger and stranger move with each passing week. The 23-year-old has only played four minutes of football since and hasn't even been named in the Spurs matchday squad for most of the games during that period.
However, one thing that lies in Tottenham's favour this summer is that there is a fair amount of interest in Gil across Europe and with two years left on his contract, they do not have to let him go for a nominal amount.
With the winger still so young, any deal could be backloaded to reward Spurs for future success he might have but there is still the opportunity to recoup a decent chunk of what they spent on Gil back in 2021.
Another Spaniard who is not part of Postecoglou's plans going forward. Reguilon's spell at Manchester United will have brought attention on him again and his time at Brentford in 2024 has been a major success.
Thomas Frank's club are expected to struggle to sign the 27-year-old as his Tottenham wages are reportedly higher than all of their players and that might be a sticking point for a number of interested clubs.
However, Reguilon has rebuilt his reputation this year and with a year left on his contract, Spurs should still be able to get a decent fee for the former Real Madrid man this summer.
The Wales international is another player who there will be fierce competition for this summer for Tottenham after a brilliant season in the Championship with Leeds.
The Elland Road side will lead the pack for the 26-year-old, who has a contract until 2025, and all eyes will be on their games against QPR and Southampton to see whether they will automatically be a Premier League club next season or whether a play-off tussle will commence.
Either way, Leeds will regret not getting an option to buy put into their loan deal for Rodon because after his standout campaign, Spurs should at least make their money back on the player they signed from Swansea in 2020.

Another member of the 'one year left' crew and while the Dane has only started six Premier League matches for Postecoglou this season, he has still made an impact throughout the year.
Hojbjerg changed agents recently and there will be plenty of interest in the 28-year-old this summer as he seeks a new home with regular football and he has proved before that he can play at the top level. The key for any move is Tottenham getting what they expect for a player who will likely make an impression at the Euros as well this summer.
This season promised plenty for Lo Celso and a renewed chance to show that the big money Spurs spent on him in 2019 was worth it. However, despite a couple of exciting moments along the way, including goals in back to back games against Aston Villa and Manchester City, the attacking midfielder hasn't played enough football to make his decision to stay last summer worth it.
Clubs including his old side Real Betis are keen to take him out of the Premier League and his likely involvement at the Copa America this summer could continue to boost the Argentine's fee, although he is another member of the 'one year left' gang.
Spurs turned down a hefty Saudi bid for Emerson in the January transfer window and that could be a scenario that arises again this summer and the club will have to make a decision on what the future holds this time for the Brazilian.
The right-back has been happy at the club but with Pedro Porro the main right-back, game time has been largely restricted. He could get more next season if there is European football but the 25-year-old is not the perfect fit for the Postecoglou inverted full-back role.
Much will depend on the player's desire to move but Spurs could fetch a decent amount for a right-back who could do a good job in most teams.
There are other players who could bring in smaller amounts of money for any transfer pot. Japhet Tanganga reportedly had a £5.1million option to join Augsburg earlier this season, but he struggled to get any game time in Germany only to return to England and join Millwall on what has been a very successful loan spell so far, which might just have increased his value again.
Genoa have an £8.6million option to sign Djed Spence permanently but that could be too much for the Italian club. Spurs might have to loan out the right-back again next season and hope that he catches the eye.
Even more difficult to shift will be former club record signing Tanguy Ndombele, who has followed up a season with few starts at Napoli with even less game time at Galatasaray. With a year left on his contract, Spurs will have some decisions to make over the Frenchman this summer with there unlikely to be a bidding war for the midfielder.
Spurs will need to decide whether to loan or sell Troy Parrott this summer if Postecoglou decides that the Republic of Ireland international not likely to be part of his plans, despite a fine season in the Eredivisie with Excelsior Rotterdam.
Other bids could come in for first teamers such as Oliver Skipp, although Tottenham's lack of club-trained players could scupper any such move, and Richarlison, who has been the subject of constant interest from Saudi clubs. It's been a good season in front of goal for the Brazilian but a big money bid after his injury-enforced absences this season could tempt the north London club.
