Troops from the 1 Division Nigerian Army have killed four insurgents and
recovered weapons in an operation in Kaduna State, according to Lt.Gen.
Musa Yahaya, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the
division. The soldiers had received information about the insurgents’ movements
and succeeded in intercepting them in Kwaga village.
The insurgents fled into the forest, leaving behind 11 kidnapped victims,
all of whom were subsequently rescued unharmed.
The victims had been kidnapped in Masuku village in the Shiroro Local
Government Area of Niger State the previous day.
Three AK-47 rifles, seven magazines and two motorcycles were also recovered
by the troops.
Yahaya concluded his statement by asking the public to continue providing
intelligence to the security forces.
