If trekking is the solution to our national disunity, insecurity and political-economic corruption; then, we might wish the present administration of the Federal Government of Nigeria well; however, it is a known fact that if wishes were horses, even beggers would ride.
Nigeria has a nation has not been treated fairly by her elites; who only account for less than 1% of the total population (technically less than 2 million of our present assumed population figures). If certain Nigerian leader thinks Nigerians would want him or her to cry on the street to show solidarity to the sufferings of the people, he will quickly do it without giving it a second thought – especially as the General Elections draw near.
Whether the people’s plight eases or not, Nigerian politicians care less. The question is, who will attend to the sufferings of majority of Nigerian youths and women whose standard of living remain pathetically low in spite of the 800m trek of Mr President?
