David Cameron: Is Nigeria Truly Corrupt Fantastically?

“Survival of the fittest” is a phrase that originated from Darwinian evolutionary theory as a way of describing the mechanism of natural selection. The biological concept of fitness is defined as reproductive success. In Darwinian terms the phrase is best understood as “Survival of the form that will leave the most copies of itself in successive generations.”

Herbert Spencer first used the phrase, after reading Charles Darwin’s On the Origin of Species, in his Principles of Biology (1864), in which he drew parallels between his own economic theories and Darwin’s biological ones: “This survival of the fittest, which I have here sought to express in mechanical terms, is that which Mr. Darwin has called ‘natural selection’, or the preservation of favoured races in the struggle for life.”

King Solomon of ancient Israel once observed and commented:

“One generation passes away, and another generation comes;
But the earth abides forever.
 The sun also rises, and the sun goes down,
And hastens to the place where it arose.
The wind goes toward the south,
And turns around to the north;
The wind whirls about continually,
And comes again on its circuit.” – Ecclesiastes 1:4-6

The implication of this timeless wisdom within the context of this review is that succession and survival are the commonest issues to man and to the earth. Everyone craves for survival, everyone race craves for perpetuation of their cultural and resource heritage. The human nature so much crave for survival that it hardly care about whose or what expense it is surviving.

Nations, just like humans, have been fighting this battle for survival for ages – some nations became smarter than their peers and they become rulers over other nations. All men are equal they say, buy some are more equal than others.

The earth is like a real estate of a wealthy King who shared his resources equally among His children. Only for some children to pally with themselves to impoverish others by taking over their portion and calling them losers at the end.

The story of Nigeria and the United Kingdom is not different. Nigeria became a victim of inadequacy of National worth and esteem; hence, became subject to the United Kingdom. And even after the so called independence of 1960; the plan and the agenda of the “benevolent colonial master” was to keep Nigeria economically independent – even if they think they are politically independent (however, we know better know: for a nation or a person without economic or financial independence is the slave or servant of the rich).

Even after the independence of 1960, Nigeria depended on United Kingdom for advice, support and aid. Just yesterday, while listening to David Cameron (the British Prime Minister), he made a very important eye-opening statement. He said, “We are living in a very wicked world, and the best way to be SAFE is to give AIDS to these countries (including Nigeria) so that their problems will not become our problems here”. So, the United Kingdom work hard to take what legitimately belong to Nigerians; use it to grow their economy, and like Nigerian banks, call Nigeria to a meeting, and promise to give an aid of 4 million british pounds sterling as aid. Please note, what most Nigerians call aid from UK is nothing but a fraction of the interest accruable on the monies stolen from Nigeria and kept with them.

See this, since independence, the British government have laid siege on the economy of Nigeria through their companies in Nigeria, which we call the multinationals. The companies, ranging from oil and gas companies to food and beverages to power companies have held our economy since independence – for what our fathers refuse to give them because of independence; they have decided to be collecting it from us the children through economic dependence.

This is it, some Nigerians steal monies from Nigeria; the British government give them so cover; the monies are invested in the British economy; then, when certain corrupt elements in Nigeria are caught; the British government tries to prosecute such persons and find it very hard to return the loot to the government of Nigeria. Why is it impossible for the British government to stop monies from entering their country from Nigeria? The cannot stop such monies because their economy dependence on it.

Britain does not produce crude oil; but they export refined oil to Nigeria. Britain does not produce cocoa; but Nigerians go to Britain to import beverages. Britain does not produce iron ore; but they export planes, trains, ships, luxuries cars to Nigeria and other nations. United Kingdom is one nation today that makes the biggest money from the poor standard of Nigerian education. The dream of any average Nigerian student is to study undergraduate or postgraduate course in the United Kingdom. Adverts of UK study is everywhere in Nigeria – what we call medical tourism by Nigerians is nothing close the educational tourism by Nigerians in the UK. Do you know that the educational sector of United Kingdom is one of the (if not the) biggest income earners of the United Kingdom?

I leave with these thoughts – the British Prime Minister got so worried over the fight of corruption by the present government of Nigeria; and told the British Queen that Nigeria is fantastically corrupt. Do you know why he said that? The corruption of Nigeria is fantastic to the UK government because their economy benefit hugely from the corruption. No wonder Mr President spent no time to ask the UK government to save the apology, but #BringBackTheLoot! I rest my case for now!
