While I sympathize with the families of every Nigerian that has become victim of the incessant killings across Nigeria, it is important that we all reason together to find a lasting solution to this menace of insecurity in Nigeria.
Without doubt, addressing the Nigerian Police Force as an organization by the National Assembly is a good step towards fixing the problem; I am however of the opinion that we must as people settle the matter of professionalism of the Force.
In numerous instances across Nigeria, I have seen Police officers and men in different states that is less than stellar for such a profession that calls for alertness of the mind, will and spirit.
How on earth can Nigerians be safe when the men and women who are saddled with the responsibility to protect them by the constitution are not safe.
We see Police officers and men in joints, beer parlours and even in secret places that can’t be mentioned. If these people go to these 
place after work, maybe there will be little complain; but they go their in uniforms with their official pickup vans. This is definitely not acceptable in sane societies, and we must speak and stand against it as sane people living in a sane nation! I rest my case for now!
