Human rights activist Deji Adeyanju has urged President Bola Tinubu to remove Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Betta Edu if she is found guilty of financial misappropriation.
Adeyanju emphasized the need for a transparent and independent investigation into the scandal. Edu had faced criticism after it was revealed that she directed the transfer of N585.2 million into a private account. The Accountant-General of the Federation, Oluwatoyin Madein, disagreed with Edu’s claim that the payment followed due process. Adeyanju praised Madein for refusing to comply with the improper request and commended her commitment to accountability and transparency.
