He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him
Psalm 91:15
Hello folks, thank God you made it into this new week; it sure going to be an awesome one for you. God told us not to lean on our own understanding, but in all our ways, we should acknowledge Him. If truly you are God’s child, and you recognize Him in turn as your Father, then your problems are His problems. And He is better, much better equipped at helping you solve those problems and going through life with you than you will ever be. All you need do is to repose your faith in Him to helping you through those difficult times. The truth be told, one of the reasons you are constantly fagged out and discouraged is simply because you have continually depended on yourself and your ability to work things out. Many times, you have trusted in your own credentials, your track records, your own strength, believed in some uncles or family to help you, but hitherto, they have failed you. Why not let God help you this time?
1 Samuel 2:9 says “He will keep the feet of His saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail”. Many times, we fail to go to God who can help and instead, we try to do it on our own or seek help from people who cannot help. Don’t be fooled into looking for help where it cannot come, simply look unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith. You have seek for help in the wrong direction for too long, why not turn to your maker, who knows you inside out, who fashioned you in His image; for the needed help. Hebrews 4:16 says “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy; and find grace to help in time of need”. There is always that grace to help in the presence of God. He is the only one who can help you, not minding your age, your sex, your state of origin, your location. He does not care whether you are light or dark in complexion, whether you are short or tall, whether you are a Nigerian or an American. God’s help is not premise on all of these things mentioned above. It is men that look for these criteria before they can help you, God does not.
As a matter of fact, you don’t need to impress God before He helps you. This is somewhat different from how men reason. Sometimes, people will choose to help you after you have impressed them one way or the other, but God does not think this way. He already knows who you are. He knows your strength and weaknesses. Your frailties are ever before Him. He has searched you and known you. There is no need to project an image of what you are or what you are not before God helps you. He has seen you in the raw. He has examined your thoughts and He knows your imaginations. All He wants from you is to come the way you are.
Jabez knew this, and called on the God of Heaven for help. He didn’t pretend to be what he is not before God. One of the challenges that men faces when it comes to seeking help from God is that they tend to pretend to be what they are not before Him. Jabez was an honorable man (1 Chronicles 4:9), but he didn’t allow that accolade to stand in his way when he needed help from God. Some people could have been tempted to think like this: how can I, known as being honourable in the whole land be seen calling on the God of heaven for help, “Kamari”- God forbid.Don’t let your ego, self-justification and societal affiliations rob you of God’s help. Majority of our so called leaders/politicians fail while in office because they will not seek God’s help and counsel to run the affairs of the nation. I mean, Kings in biblical history sought the help of God through prophets of God, and those ones that did succeeded.
Don’t be too big for God that created you. If you are tired of doing everything on your own by your strength and abilities, that is good. It is time to ask God to help you. Romans 10:12-13 says “For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him, for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”. Beloved, don’t go into this new week with all the burdens on your shoulders, let God help you put. Perhaps, you are looking for a shoulder to lean on, why not lean on God’s.
Do have a great week and thanks for reading.
