The Lagos State Police Command in Nigeria has intercepted a Volkswagen LT bus carrying 70 cartons of expired drugs.
The officers from the Okokomaiko Division made the discovery when they stopped the suspicious vehicle for a search at Afromedia.
The drugs, identified as Feed Fine Cyproheptadine Caplets with an expiry date of 2016, were being transported to an individual in Alaba who planned to change the expiry dates before selling them in Port Harcourt.
The two occupants of the vehicle, Augustine Egemoye and Innocent Eremosele, admitted to their involvement in the operation. The suspects, drugs, and vehicle are now in police custody.
An investigation is underway to locate the owner of the drugs and any others involved in altering the expiry dates.
