Messi will turn 32 this June and it is hardly surprising that Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu has already started the planning of life after Lionel Messi. In a recent interview with BBC Radio 5 Live Football Daily, he said:
“I know one day Lionel will say he’s retiring. We have to prepare the club for the future.
“We are bringing great young players to the team because we need to continue this era of success. That’s our responsibility.”
Well, Bartomeu might have just got the best news he has ever heard in his whole life.

In an interview with Que t’hi jugues (via Marca), the Genetic scientist said:
“We could get a player very similar to Messi. We would be able to clone him with current techniques and get something that would look like a twin.
“If would be as if two twins had been born and one of them would have been kept frozen in a time chamber.
“Then 20 or 30 years later we would return him to his correct time. If everything had went well, it would be the same.”
However, he also elaborated that:
“Messi is Messi and isn’t who he is only because of genetics. He is a product of his environment, of growing up in La Masia, of the hormonal treatment he received…
“What genetics does is to give a potential, as was the case with Messi but whether that is fulfilled or not comes down to the circumstances and what happens around us.”
What’s next?
Though science has come a long way since the creation of life on Earth, creating another Messi with all the attributes he possesses is almost next to impossible.
However, if there is one percent chance of renewing Messi magic for another 10 years then we would love to hope without any kind of complaints.
