The National Working Committee (NWC) of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday night rescheduled its governorship and senatorial primary elections, among others.
It also approved the update of the party’s timetable and schedule of activities for the 2023 general election.
National Publicity Secretary of the party Debo Ologunagba disclosed this in a statement.
According to him, the new schedule is as follows: “Local Government Area Congress to elect one National Delegate per LGA and one Person living with disability in the 774 Local Government Areas: Tuesday, May 10, 2022
“State House of Assembly (State Constituency Congress): Wednesday, May 18, 2022. House of Representatives Primaries: Friday, May 20, 2022; Senatorial District Primaries: Saturday, May 21, 2022; Governorship Primaries: Monday, May 23, 2022.”
Ologunagba called on all aspirants to various positions, critical stakeholders, members of the party, as well as relevant agencies of government to take note of the changes
In another development, the party leadership has upheld the disqualification of two Presidential aspirants under the party.
The decision, NaijaTimes gathered, was reached on Wednesday by the Dr Iyorchia Ayu-led appeal committee.
