Express Sport provides all the latest transfer news LIVE.As the domestic season draws to a close in England this weekend, the summer transfer window is right around the corner. Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal, are already working in the background to ensure this year’s recruitment drive goes smoothly ahead of next season.
It’s expected to be an unusual transfer window amid rising concerns about Financial Fair Play and the Premier League‘s Profit and Sustainability Rules.
But the English top-flight will undoubtedly be among the world’s top-spending leagues by the time the deadline rolls around in September.
United are reportedly pushing to hijack Newcastle United’s deal for Tosin Adarabioyo.
The Fulham defender is available on a free transfer this summer and could complete one of the first high-profile moves of the off-season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal look set to say goodbye to at least one of Mikel Arteta‘s players following a public admission.
Express Sport recaps all of Thursday’s latest transfer news and views from the Premier League and beyond.Man Utd and Newcastle are chasing Tosin Adarabioyo. Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners. That’s that for another busy day in the football world.
With the managerial and transfer rumour mill in full swing, it promises to be a busy summer of action.
Be sure to check in tomorrow for all of Express Sport’s latest transfer updates.
Premier League clubs could spark a move for RB Leipzig ace Dani Olmo.
The Spanish star is tipped to move during the summer transfer window, with Fabrizio Romano reporting he boasts a £51million release clause in his contract.
Football grounds across the country could be welcoming a familiar face next season if Wayne Rooney is appointed as Plymouth Argyle boss.
The ex-Manchester United man has emerged as a possible candidate for the Argyle job, as per The Telegraph.
Rooney has been out of work since being sacked by Birmingham City earlier this year.
Arsenal will have to splash a club-record fee to pry Alexander Isak to the Emirates Stadium this summer, as per The Telegraph.
It’s suggested by the outlet that Newcastle will demand well over £150million for Isak, should any clubs come sniffing.
Lucas Paqueta’s recent charge from the FA for betting offences could spell bad news for Newcastle United, if Manchester City make a move for Bruno Guimaraes.
Pep Guardiola’s side are rumoured to be in the market for midfield reinforcements this summer, with Guimaraes having emerged as a potential candidate.
But given their shortlist of options has taken a hit with the Paqueta news, City could look to move in for Guimaraes sooner rather than later.
It’s suggested the Brazil ace has a £100million release clause – something City would likely be able to match.Erik ten Hag has admitted he’s ‘thinking about’ Manchester United‘s summer transfer business, despite rumours suggesting Saturday’s FA Cup final could be his final game in charge.
Speaking ahead of the final, Ten Hag said: “Transfers? Of course I’m thinking about it, but my focus is until Saturday”
Manchester City‘s summer 2024 transfer plans have been dealt an early blow following news that Lucas Paqueta has been charged by the FA.
The Brazilian ace had been linked to an £80million move, but Pep Guardiola’s side will have to look elsewhere.
Paqueta’s case will be heard by an independent commission, with the midfielder likely to face a ban if found guilty.
Full story.Bayern Munich are lining up a summer swoop for Manchester City winger Jack Grealish, according to The Sun.
City legend Vincent Kompany is set to be appointed Bayern’s new manager, despite suffering Premier League relegation with Burnley this season.
And he is said to have identified Grealish as one of his first transfer targets.
Bayern believe they will be able to persuade the England winger to link up with international team-mate Harry Kane at the Allianz Arena.
Benfica have completed the permanent signing of Manchester United left-back Alvaro Fernandez after triggering a buy option in his contract.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Fernandez has signed a five-year deal, with United earning around £5m from the sale.
The Red Devils are said to have a buy-back clause, sell-on clause, and matching rights.Alvaro Fernandez has left Man Utd.Newcastle United are plotting swoops for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin and West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen this summer.
According to The Telegraph, both names have featured prominently in recruitment meetings ahead of the transfer window.
A winger is said to be a priority this summer, but Newcastle understand a deal for Bowen, and Calvert-Lewin, will be complicated and pricey.
Manchester United are leading Newcastle United and other rivals in the race for Michael Olise this summer, according to reports.
It’s claimed that Olise would prefer a move to Old Trafford in a deal that could be worth around £60m.
The 22-year-old winger is a boyhood United fan and is ready to answer the club’s cries for an upgrade on the right flank.
West Ham United have announced the appointment of Julen Lopetegui as the club’s new manager.
Lopetegui has been out of work since leaving Wolves at the end of the season, but now replaces David Moyes at the London Stadium.
Pablo Sanz (Assistant Head Coach), Oscar Caro (Head of Performance and Assistant Coach), Juan Vicente Peinado (Head of Analysis and Assistant Coach), Borja De Alba (Fitness Coach) and Edu Rubio (Technical Coach) will join him at West Ham.

Dwight Yorke believes Manchester United must give Erik ten Hag the third year of his contract if he wins the FA Cup on Saturday.
“Listen, I’m a future big-time manager in the making,” Yorke told Express Sport on behalf of Crypto Casino.
“If I were to come in at any club and win two trophies back-to-back in both years, I’ve got to think I’ve saved my job somewhere along the line because no manager has been able to do that [since Sir Alex Ferguson].
“So, having my manager head on, from that standpoint, I would say he needs to stay.”
He added: “I think you’ve got to be fair. But if he were to win the FA Cup, I like to be fair because I like to be treated fairly as well. If I win two trophies in two years, fair enough.”
A deal is in place for Newcastle United to sign Lloyd Kelly on a free transfer this summer, according to the Mail.
The 25-year-old defender is set to leave AFC Bournemouth after five years, with St James’ Park his destination.
Newcastle are also said to be closing in on Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer.Newcastle are set to sign Lloyd Kelly.Kieran McKenna is interested in replacing Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea boss, according to the Mail.
The Ipswich Town manager reportedly wants to challenge himself at the highest level amid heavyweight interest.
Brighton and Hove Albion and former club Manchester United are also said to be circling.
Any suitor would owe Ipswich around £4m in compensation to lure McKenna away from Portman Road.
Mason Greenwood has hinted that his future may lie away from Manchester United, according to The Sun.
It’s claimed that the 22-year-old has put his £2m Manchester mansion up for rent at £14,000-a-month.
Greenwood is expected to leave United permanently this summer amid interest from England, Spain and elsewhere.
Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga has confirmed that he is looking to leave the club this summer.
The 24-year-old midfielder has made just 39 appearances since his £17m arrival in 2021, spending this season on loan at Luton Town.
“For me, I had a discussion with Arsenal and the conclusion was the best thing for me was to leave the club, so now it’s up to my agent and the club to find something,”Lokonga said.
“I still have a contract there, 1 year plus 1 year option so let’s see what happens.”
Newcastle United were reportedly close to completing a deal to sign Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer.
However, BBC Sport claim that United are pushing to recruit the Fulham defender this summer.
The Red Devils are thought to be in a tight financial position heading into the transfer window.
And a bargain deal for the 26-year-old would represent a perfect start to the INEOS era.
