We express gratitude to God for His grace and blessings throughout the year 2024. It acknowledges the challenges faced during the year but emphasizes that with God’s help, they were overcome. We also highlight the achievements made individually, collectively, and as a nation, while acknowledging that there is still more to be done.
We call for a positive change in mindset and behaviour to achieve greater heights in the new year. It expresses hope for a prosperous year for all Nigerians, starting with their leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I praise God again for His grace and mercy from January 1st to December 31st, 2023, attributing all successes to God’s benevolence.
We acknowledge that both positive and negative events have shaped the country’s history in the past year. It states that progress has been made but also recognizes that there have been setbacks. It asserts that no one person can take credit for the progress or blame for the shortcomings in the country. Instead, it suggests that everyone, including politicians, civil servants, clergy, and citizens, has played a role in either promoting or undermining the nation’s progress.
We call for a review of individual and collective roles to contribute to the development and progress of the country. It emphasizes the importance of unity, love, and respect for one another, regardless of religion or ethnicity. I argue that coexistence and unity are essential for peace, progress, stability, and pleasure in society.
I conclude by urging for a change in attitude and behavior in the new year. The current state of the country calls for the need for individual efforts and the importance of seeing the society as a whole rather than dividing along religious or ethnic lines. We believe that only through cooperation, integration, and a rejection of destructive prejudices can Nigeria achieve development and peace. I pray for a bountiful harvest in the new year.
