Jose Mourinho has lost the confidence of the Manchester United board and is set to be sacked this weekend no matter the result of the match against Newcastle United today. Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is the favourite to succeed Mourinho, who is set to receive compensation of around £20million. Michael Carrick could be put in temporary charge. However, Mourinho insisted he is the man to turn Manchester United’s ailing season around, disputing the impending sack report by Daily Mirror. United are struggling in 10th place in the Premier League, without a home win in any competition since the…

The heavy flood in about 14 states may lead to shortage of rice across the country next year, the Federal Government has warned. It warned that if adequate measures were not taken to replant the rice affected by severe flood in some states, Nigeria might experience shortage of the staple by 2019. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, stated these at the inauguration of the National Agricultural Seed Council Molecular Facility and the 2018 Seed Fair and Farmers’ Field Day in Abuja on Thursday. According to him, the flood affected some major rice-producing states, and this…

Jose Mourinho acknowledged on Friday that Manchester United’s current run of form is unacceptable as he battles to turn around their season. The 55-year-old Portuguese is under enormous pressure, with United in their worst position after seven league matches since 1989 — they are 10th, nine points adrift of the top two Manchester City and Liverpool — and a public dispute with star player Paul Pogba has sewn discord in the dressing room. His side are looking to end a run of four home matches without a win -– their worst run at Old Trafford for 29 seasons –- when…

Neymar scored his second Champions League hat trick as Paris Saint-Germain rolled to a 6-1 victory over Red Star Belgrade in a Champions League group-stage game at the Parc des Princes yesterday. When you find that their well-being is a higher priority than your cravings, you’re in love. While working a summer job in college, I met a guy several years older than me who I was attracted to in an exciting and powerful can’t-eat-can’t-sleep kind of way. If I was making copies and he happened to walk by and make eye contact with me, I would get a rush throughout my body that would make my cheeks flush and my knees buckle. With every text message he sent me, I would get a flutter of excitement in my stomach. At age 20, I…

By Oladejo Abiodun And God killed Uzza! Well-meaning Uzza died because he tried to save the Ark of Covenant from breaking into pieces. Like many people, I’ve been troubled about how God would repay his service with death. So, two days ago, I stumbled on why. And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God. 1 Chronicles 13:9‭-‬10 KJV…
