A governor in Kenya has been left shaken after bandits shot at his convoy while on a mission to rescue marooned pupils.
The bandits on Wednesday shot at Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi and Rift Valley Regional Coordinator Wanyama Musiambo’s convoy.
The bandits have been reigning havoc in Baringo and it environs especially the Kerio Valley stealing livestock, killing people and burning property, according TUKO Ke reports.
The over 200 bandits descended on the village unleashing terror in a night-long attack looting shops and torching homes.
The attackers seem to have been bold and have taken control of Makutani village.
They on Wednesday shot at Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi and Rift Valley Regional Coordinator Wanyama Musiambo’s convoy.
This was when the two were attempting to evacuate pupils from Mukutani primary school.
