The Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre, London, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, and the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Reverend Chidi Okoroafor, have urged Nigerians to seek divine solutions to the current economic woes.
Both preachers spoke at the annual conference of the Assemblies of God Church at Evangel Camp, Okpoto, along Enugu/Abakiliki expressway.
Ashimolowo, who was a guest preacher at the three-day event, said only God could revive the country’s economy currently in recession.
He said Nigerians should not rely on “broken men to heal a broken country.”
Ashimolowo said, “Some nations, even if they have bad leaders, once they go to God in prayer, He will make a way for them. Apart from God and the scripture, we can’t make headway in situations like this.”
Similarly, Okoroafor said, “There is hope for the people but it will come from God.
When there was upheaval in the Bible, precisely in the Book of Ezekiel, God did not look for scientists or economists.”
