Five days to the governorship election in Ondo State, hundreds of youths in the state stormed the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Alagbaka area of Akure, the state capital on Monday, to protest against the call to hold the election on Saturday September 26, 2016.
The youths were demanding the commission to postpone the election to enable all parties concluded their litigations over issues of candidacy at the courts
Specifically the youths said the postponement would enable the Appeal Court conclude on the case of the governorship candidacy of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party between the two factional candidates of the party, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede and Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim.
